Department of Postgraduate Legal Studies

The Department of Postgraduate Legal Studies at CSI College for Legal Studies (CSICLS), Kanakkary, Kottayam, is dedicated to providing advanced legal education and promoting academic excellence through specialized postgraduate programmes. The department offers the LL.M. in Commercial Law, a two-year programme approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

The LL.M. (Commercial Law) programme is structured over four semesters and is designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial legal frameworks. The curriculum covers key areas such as corporate governance, international trade law, banking and insurance law, intellectual property rights, competition law, and emerging issues in commercial transactions. Emphasis is placed on legal research, critical analysis, case studies, and dissertation work, enabling students to develop strong research and analytical skills.

The department encourages a rigorous academic environment supported by experienced faculty members, research-oriented teaching methods, and access to extensive legal resources. Students are actively engaged through seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures, and research presentations, fostering scholarly discussion and professional growth.
